To prepare students for global competition, mastering foreign languages, and obtaining direct exposure to the international scale, SMA Budi Utama organized a study tour to Singapore. This program designed to help students understand the advancement of education, urban planning, and transportation in a developed country.
During the visit to the National University of Singapore (NUS), students participated in a demonstration at the NUS lab, where they conducted practical physics experiments. This experience expanded their understanding of how physics is closely related to everyday life.
At Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), students attended a workshop on digital marketing led by expert Jason Tan Strongerhead. This session provided insights into the dynamics of global marketing while allowing students to practice their English skills through discussions and interactive activities.
The visit to the URA Gallery introduced students to urban planning and Singapore’s city development strategies. They learned that well-structured cities require years of careful planning and execution.
Another highlight of the study tour was experiencing Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system. This practical experience allowed students to observe how a well-managed public transportation system operates efficiently.
Students also had the opportunity to interact directly with local Singaporeans and international tourists by visiting popular destinations such as Jewel, Bugis, Chinatown, Gardens by the Bay, Wings of Time, and Universal Studios Singapore (USS). Through these visits, students gained insights into how Singapore’s government manages tourism by integrating technology and excellent services, making tourism a major contributor to the country’s economy.
This study tour provided students with the opportunity to observe, analyze, and learn from Singapore’s success. It is hoped that this experience will inspire students to generate innovative ideas that can be implemented in Indonesia in the future.
