On Wednesday, 16 June 2021, all grade X students had a CCU Session. We had a discussion session with Ms. Lourdeth A. Fergusson, M.SSc (working at the UN as the Executive Secretary and Director) and her daughter, Giovanna Ferguson, who has previously spoken on panels covering a variety of topics.

We discussed about Cross-Cultural Understanding issues in society nowadays and mostly about diversity in a work place and in a classroom.

There are two main points that we could conclude from the discussion.

1.Being an open-minded person is really important.

As a human being, we need to learn from each other because we can complete each other with our uniqueness. Moreover, when we engage with other person, dignity and respect are important.

2.Cross Cultural competency skills has become one of the most important skills to have, especially in a work place. We all have various skills to have and it can be used to collaborate in order to innovate because the economy of our nations depend on our skills to communicate. Most important thing that we need to know is that we need to understand each other in order to collaborate.

Above all, it becomes our responsibility to be part of it.

We were so honored to have a discussion session with them. We really hope that we could have had a CCU Session in the near future.
